When we want to fluff a pillow we slap and tap it a bit and it plumps up, right? The same theory can be applied to your skin care routine. If you slap and tap your skin quickly and rhythmically you will energize it while increasing collagen and elastin production. During facials I do this for my clients and then demonstrate how to do it at home. I encourage them to make it part of their daily routine.
The science behind all this slapping and tapping lies in EGS (epidermal growth stimulation) and EGF (epidermal growth factors). When you slap and tap your skin your are creating EGS. And we naturally make EGF, however, the production slows over time. There are serums and moisturizers that contain EGFs. For a bigger impact you can combine an EGF enhanced eye treatment or moisturizer with your slap and tap routine. This way you are mimicking your body’s collagen and elastin production and the result will be healthy, energized skin. Check out an old video of mine to see how to properly slap and tap!
Make this simple trick part of your daily routine and your skin will thank you for it.
